01 about me

Originally Canadian, my studying took me overseas.

I’m a Melbourne University 2012 graduate with a relaxed, amicable personality, great communication skills with clients and lots of problem solving experience.

I’ve been an associate and occasionally a loccum in Muskoka Ontario for
about 5 yrs - it's a busy tourist destination frequented by Torontonians with both demanding high-end cottager clientele and locals with more typical constraints.

Clinical experience in Canada, Australia and France.

Loccum experience in multiple practices, hitting the ground running often without even a tour of the facility, well versed in using multiple out-house labs, multiple veterinary lines of nutrition  - same quality care and service no matter where I am.

01 PROFESSIONAL

MY VETERINARY SKILLSET

Very comfortable with soft tissue surgery +/- CO2 laser.  Enjoy challenging lumpectomies , foreign body surgeries, enucleations, cystotomies, entropion repair, acknowledged for great cosmetic results.  Gaining confidence in leg amputations / splenectomy.  Orthopedics on the horizon eventually.  Still no surgical loss of life to date and very low post-op infection rates.

 CLIENT RELATIONS

Client relations and communications are my strongest assets - timely follow-ups, annual visit report-cards, client education, care plans, discharges, sympathy cards - all part of a day's work.  Pride myself on being #1 receiver of client-baked goods :)

Multi-day wet-labs with Dr Tony Woodward in Colorado (Level I + II) - advanced extraction techniques, sealant applications, radiocautery.  5 years of taking / reading dental radiographs, comprehensive oral exam part of every annual. Personally book / execute >5 COHATs weekly.

Routine digital radiology daily, comfortable with stat referrals for immediate surgical decisions, FAST ultrasound ready, u/s guided biopsy + cysto routinely.  Cytology skills above average comfortable diagnosing multitude of pathologies.  Ultrasound course planned for March 2017

Amazingly well equipped practice with a great team. Advanced dentistry, endoscopy, CO2 laser surgery, video otoscope.  Great in-house lab equipmen and ultrasonography. Took care of all surgery and consults for Muskoka Animal Rescue.  Started as Locum but hired full-time due to performance and client feed-back.  Excelled with production based salary.  References upon request, leaving to move out west despite being offered incentives to stay.
